What you get for $95
The $95 price covers a new oil filter and up to 5 quarts of Mobil 1 full-synthetic oil, which is enough for most four- and six-cylinder engines. If your engine holds more than 5 quarts, the extra oil is quoted before the work.
If your owner's manual calls for a different oil specification, the shop tells you before starting and quotes it, so the price never changes without your approval.
How often to change synthetic oil in Brooklyn
Follow the interval in your owner's manual or your car's oil-life monitor. Most manuals treat short trips, stop-and-go traffic and long idling as severe service, which usually means a shorter interval, and that describes most driving in Brooklyn.
Prepaid yearly maintenance plans
TK Modern Auto sells prepaid yearly maintenance plans that include oil changes. Each plan is paid once and covers a full year. See tkmodernauto.com/maintenance-packages for what each plan covers.

Do I need an appointment?
Requesting a time is easiest: pick an arrival window online at tkmodernauto.com/booking and the shop confirms it by phone. If something is wrong today, call (718) 266-1703 and the shop fits you in where it can.
How often should I change synthetic oil?
Use the interval in your owner's manual or the car's oil-life monitor. Short trips, stop-and-go traffic and idling count as severe service in most manuals, which usually shortens the interval.
Does my car need synthetic oil?
Many newer engines specify synthetic oil in thin grades such as 0W-20 or 0W-16. Use the grade and specification printed in your owner's manual or on the oil filler cap.
Can I add other service to an oil change?
Yes. Mention it when you book. Anything added gets a written price first, and nothing is done without your approval.
Do the prepaid maintenance plans include oil changes?
Yes. The Loyalty plan ($199) includes two oil changes and two tire rotations for the year; Plus ($250) and Pro ($350) include everything in Loyalty and more.
